Chained Beasts

Roster

Beasts

1.0 unlocks eight beasts, plus variants. Two names are known: Rhino and Ibex. Six weapons have a known introduction. The other six beast names are still unknown.

Named beasts
Rhino and Ibex come from the May 2026 demo update. Variants get different stats, abilities, and cosmetics.

Rhino

Added in the May 2026 demo update, which also reworked beasts already in the build. A boss that rides a rhino is a separate Carthage fight.

Ibex

Added in the same May update as Rhino. No ability list comes with the name.

Six unnamed beasts

1.0 unlocks 8 beasts plus variants with different stats, abilities, and cosmetics. The other six names are still unknown.

What “eight beasts” actually names

Rhino and Ibex are the only beast names from the May 2026 demo update. The retail unlock count is eight, and variants change stats, abilities, and cosmetics. A variant is not a ninth beast, and variants have no titles of their own.

There is no damage, speed, or health figure for Rhino, Ibex, or the unnamed six. Treat the roster as names, not a tier list. New characters unlock with powerful abilities, and each run asks you to take a different path through them.

Weapons in the order they were named

Sword, spear, mace, and flail are the four choices in the November 2025 demo. May 2026 added the bow as a ranged weapon. The July open beta added an axe. Those six are the known weapons. December’s 1.1 mentions one further weapon and does not name it; see Roadmap.

Range matters on a chain. The bow is the ranged weapon, so it is the option when you need to hit without walking into the knot. You can also throw a weapon to reach someone, but you need another weapon still in hand. Melee names do not come with reach numbers.

Psychosis, a July skill, shows hallucinated weapons. It stays on Demo with the other beta skills. The six rows here are the named arms only.

Mount, unlock, and the May rework

Rhino means two different things. The playable beast and the animal under the Carthage boss are not one creature. Ibex arrives with the playable Rhino and has no second meaning.

  • The May 2026 demo update adds Rhino and Ibex and reworks beasts that already existed. Those earlier beasts have no names.
  • The 2025 Carthage demo is not that roster. Its choices are sword, spear, mace, and flail.
  • A variant changes stats, abilities, and cosmetics. It is not a ninth beast, and no variant has a title.
  • The bow arrives in May and is the ranged weapon. Sword, spear, mace, flail, and the later axe have no known reach.
  • Executions arrive in that same May update. No button and no damage figure are tied to Rhino or to Ibex.
  • Untouchable, from the July open beta, is 6 seconds of invulnerability after an execution. That duration is a skill, not a beast stat.
  • The axe is the July weapon, from the Germania beta. It is the sixth named weapon, not a beast ability.
  • December's 1.1 mentions one further weapon and does not name it. The weapon list stays at six until that weapon has a name.
  • Eight is the retail unlock count. Two is the named count. Rhino and Ibex are not the whole roster.

Picking a weapon inside a chain

On a chained team the bow is the only ranged weapon, so it is the known option when you need to hit without walking into the ally beside you. The five melee names do not come with a spacing number of their own.

If Annoying is in the run, allies often attack when you stand too close. The bow does not cancel that affliction. It only lets you contribute from outside the knot. Melee still works. It has no known safe distance.
